Community Services

St. Edmond's Home offers outreach services to children with special needs living in the community. Our services include:

Camp Rainbow -our Extended School Year program that runs five days/week for eight weeks each summer. Camp activities include field trips, therapeutic swimming, and sessions in our Multi-Sensory Room (Snoezelen Room). Anyone interested in the summer program, please contact the Spcial Services Director.

Therapeutic swimming - our therapeutic swimming pool is available for use by individuals or groups. Anyone interested in therapeutic swimming, please contact the Recreation Activities Coordinator.

Multi-Sensory Room - also called our "Snoezelen Room." An environment offering tactile, visual, auditory, vestibular and olfactory stimulation through a variety of therapeutic modalities. Snoezelen Room is also available for use by individuals and groups. Anyone interested in using the multi-sensory room, please contact Occupational Therapy.

Residential Programs

St. Edmond's Home serves 40 boys and girls, ages 3 - 21 with diagnoses of mental retardation, varying types of cerebral palsy and various chromosome and genetic disorders. We offer 24 hour nursing and direct care, along with physical, occupational, speech and recreation therapy. In addition, we offer spiritual services, social services and have an active parent group. Children attend school programs coordinated through the Delaware County Intermediate Unit, and have case managers through their home county office of mental retardation. St. Edmond's Home makes every effort to involve families, case managers and advocates in all aspects of our children's individualized programs.
