Admissions

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has licensed Divine Providence Village for 96 beds. Admissions are solely through referral from the Department of Human Services in Philadelphia and from the Offices of Mental Retardation throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania.

Volunteers

Anyone interested in other people can volunteer their time. Currently, our volunteers come from all age groups and all walks of life. Local high schools and universities send students to help our men and women. Some college students volunteer at our sites and receive college credit.

Volunteers are needed at DPV Residential Buildings, DPV Administrative Offices, the Adult Training Facility, the Work Activity Center, and the Community Living Arrangements all located in the Springfield area.

Volunteers are asked to do things that they feel most comfortable doing. Taking a walk, reading a story, helping with an arts and crafts activity are some of the ways you can contribute to the lives of those we serve.

Auxiliary

Divine Providence Village has an Auxiliary Association. Anyone can be a part of the auxiliary: parents, volunteers, students, and senior citizens. The primary goal of Divine Providence Village Auxiliary Association is to raise money for special large purchases that will enhance the quality of life for the men and women of all Divine Providence Village programs.

Divine Providence Village has many exciting full- and part-time positions currently available at both our on- and off-site locations. Our full time employees receive an outstanding benefits package as well as the opportunity for advancement through in house training and tuition reimbursement. Come join our team and grow with us! Location and Directions

Divine Providence Village is located on Old Marple Road, just west of the intersection of Old Marple and Sproul (PA Route 320) Roads.

PA Turnpike - from New Jersey and Northeast

Take I-276 (Pennsylvania Turnpike) West (toward Harrisburg) to interchange 25A (from New Jersey) or 20 (from Northeast) for I-476 (Mid County — Chester and I-95).  Follow I-476 to exit 9 (Newtown Square / Broomall). Follow directions below PATurnpike — from Harrisburg.

PA Turnpike - from Harrisburg

Take I-276 (Pennsylvania Turnpike) East (toward New Jersey) to interchange 326
(Valley Forge). Take I-76 East to I-476 South (Chester). Follow I-476 two exits to exit
9 (Newtown Square / Broomall).
On exit bear to left. At light make left onto PA Route 3 (West Chester Pike).
Immediately get into right lane. At 2nd light make right onto Lawrence Road. Lawrence
Road ends at Sproul Road (PA Route 320). Make left. At 4th light, make right onto Old
Marple Rd. The entrance is the first driveway on your right.

From Interstate 95 — Northbound or Southbound

Take I-95 to I-476 North (Plymouth Meeting). Follow I-476 North to exit 5 (Lima /
Springfield — US Route 1). Bear to right on exit and merge onto US Route 1 North.
Keep to the right as you merge onto US Route 1 and take the PA Route 320 (Sproul
Rd.) exit. Turn Left at the 2nd light onto PA Route 320 North (Sproul Rd.). Follow
directions below From Center City Philadelphia.

From Center City Philadelphia

Take I-676 West to I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) West (Valley Forge). Take I-76 West
to the US Route 1 South (City Ave) Exit. (exit is from the left lane). Follow US Route 1
South about 15 miles to PA Route 320 North (Sproul Rd.). Turn right on PA Route 320
North (Sproul Rd.) At the next light turn left onto Old Marple Rd. The entrance is the
first driveway on your right.

West Chester

PA Route 3 East (West Chester Pike) to PA Rt 320 South (Sproul Road). Follow past
Lawrence Park Shopping Center (on left). At 3rd light after shopping center, make right
onto Old Marple Rd. The entrance is the first driveway on your right.
