Our Mission

Don Guanella school is committed to the belief that every boy, regardless of race, color, creed, ethnic background, or disability, has the right to be afforded every opportunity to develop and attain his optimum potential as a member of the human family. Don Guanella School is committed to provide every boy the environment and supports necessary for him to develop and grow physically, emotionally, socially, intellectually, and spiritually.

Spirituality

Don Guanella School encourages all boys to address their spiritual need. Formal worship services are conducted each week on Sunday morning as well as on special holidays throughout the year. All boys are encouraged to attend; however, the choice to do so is left up to the individual. Informally the boys are encouraged and taught to handle themselves in a Christian and understanding manner. Staff is encouraged to work with the boys in this regard as well as to take the boys to worship services off campus whenever possible. Also it should be noted that having members of the clergy on campus is very important. This service provides the boys with the opportunity to seek counseling and/or assistance when they feel that this is an alternate option.

Program Goal

The ideal outcome for a boy at Don Guanella School is family reunification. In cases where this is not possible, Don Guanella School prepares young men for a residential placement which has an independent focus.
